On my wish list is a Yaesu FT2000D, a pair of 160ft self supporting antenna towers, 1.5kw Ameritron AL-1200 HF Linear amplifier, some nice antenna switching gear from DX Engineering.
I'll just keep on dreaming unless someone wants to make a generous donation!
Antenna Experiments Digital Modes Baluns My Equipment
In the photo below is my radio shack and my grounded loop that I can tune for most bands.
UPDATE: The antenna system has changed click on the antenna experiments link above to find out what I've been up to.
The ground system consists of a mesh of chicken wire laid over the lawn. The chicken wire after 3 months (mid winter) has now been almost completely absorbed into the lawn.
The rest of the ground system is made up of about 8 radials that I have ran temporarily around the garden in the most xyl friendly way that I could.
About 50% of the back garden is laid with type 1 substrate ready for a very large patio area. The plan for the future is to lay more mesh over the rest of the back garden before the patio goes down. UPDATE

Ham radio deluxe, Icom 728 (on loan from G7KLJ), Icom 706mk2 with DSP, MFJ 1025 noise canceller, Alinco V5
Apr, Sold the 706 and bought a Yaesu FT450AT
Behind the shack is a K9AY receiving loop, I still need to make the switch box to enable me to select the receiving direction. Hopefully I will get around to doing that before the end of February (didn't say what year!)!!
